We've held some wedding blog posts back to share during the slow season for weddings.

Stephanie and Mike were married in May on their farm in Pekin, Indiana, where they raise bison.  Mike is a Louisville hand surgeon by trade, but they love owning a farm out in the country.  They stood on the boat dock with the pond and trees as a backdrop for their ceremony.  Their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the barn which had been decorated with floral and furniture, as well as a bar and live entertainment.  The reception was held in a beautifully decorated tent with a live band where they dined and  finished the night.  It was all great fun! The weather was perfect. Stephanie said they hired professionals, told them their preferences, and let them do what they do best. And it paid off because everything looked awesome and the day went smoothly and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.

Mike and Talisa had a great outdoor portrait session on Friday! They said they weren't engaged so I tried to talk them into getting married, because they were so great together.  They had a lot of energy and were very affectionate with one another, so we had fun making some great images.

We photographed the wedding of Carrie and J back in 2007 and this month I
had the pleasure to photograph them again with their new baby, Kate! It was
such a pleasure to catch up with them and meet their sweet little baby. I
love that they chose to do the pictures in their home.  This gives the
pictures a natural feel and it is much easier to tend to the the needs of the
baby during the shoot.

We got a much needed break from the heat just in time for Jackie & Brian's
engagement session! We're looking forward to shooting their wedding this November.

Amber and Nathan's ceremony took place on Nathan's grandparents farm in Owenton, KY. They incorporated many sentimental things at both the ceremony and reception, such as quilts made by Nathan's grandmother, an old mailbox covered in pictures, and a barn built by Nathan's late grandfather. Wildflowers in mason jars sat atop the stumps of an old oak tree that formerly stood on the spot they had exchanged their vows. It was a beautiful location for a ceremony. Even though it rained off and on (and even during the actual ceremony) Amber wasn't afraid to move about the farm in her wedding dress and heels! Here are just a few images from their wedding day. Michelle and I represented Studio E at the Ultimate Bridal Services Summer Bridal Show at the Brown & Williamson Club today.  We met a lot of brides and really nice couples!
